Congratulations on discovering CCL. We’re creating the political will for federal climate-change legislation that will create jobs, grow the economy, save lives and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The following will help you get acquainted with CCL so you can plug in and begin contributing. This is an online version of the paper handout with active links in green.
Our focus: CCL volunteers are working to pass a revenue-neutral carbon fee and dividend policy, with 100% of the revenues returned to households as dividends and border adjustments to address international competition issues while encouraging our trading partners to also price carbon.
Our methods: We work to achieve this goal by lobbying at the federal level, educating the public, and publishing opinion pieces in the media, all in an effort to create the political will necessary for Congress to support our proposal.
Monthly meetings: Our monthly meetings feature guest speakers, Q&A, celebration of members’ achievements, practice and presentation of monthly action plans.
Regional conferences are held annually and provide members a chance to learn more, work together on regional strategy, and network.
CCL’s annual international conference (usually in June in Washington, D.C.) features prominent speakers, educational workshops, and culminates in meetings with almost every member of Congress or their staff. Our 2017 International Conference will be June 11-13.
