Focus on Energy: Clean energy rebates "here to stay"

Although last year’s so-called Big Beautiful Tax Bill abruptly ended federal clean-energy tax credits, rebates are “here to stay,” according to Brady Steigauf. In fact, he says, some rebates are actually increasing. Steigauf, community liaison manager for Focus on Energy, updated Wisconsin CCLers about clean-energy rebates that are available to people in Wisconsin this year. Funded by 117 of the 120 public utilities in Wisconsin, Focus on Energy offers rebates for insulation, heating and cooling, water heating, and solar energy systems. While rebates for many of these are unchanged, those for solar are increasing. Check out the Get Started tool on Focus on Energy’s website to see what rebates are available to you.
Focus on Energy is celebrating its 25th anniversary and plans to reach out to more communities in Wisconsin this year. But don’t worry about money running out any time soon. Steigauf says the program has $120 million in federal funds and expects it to last five years.

Dane County Office of Energy and Climate Change
Dane County is committed to meaningful climate action. In 2017 County Executive Joe Parisi established the Office of Energy & Climate Change (OECC), with the goal of developing and implementing a countywide Climate Action Plan (CAP).
