We are creating the political will for positive climate change solutions. We'd love to have you on our team!
THE BASICS
Our focus: CCL volunteers are working to pass the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act, a bipartisan climate solution that is effective, good for people, good for the economy and revenue neutral.
Our methods: There are five core activities that Citizens’ Climate Lobby chapters leverage to bring citizens into the political process, ensure their contribution is constructive and make more effective climate action possible. These are lobbying, media relations, grassroots outreach, grasstops outreach and chapter development. We call these activities the “levers of political will”
Monthly meetings: Our monthly meetings feature guest speakers, Q&A, celebration of members’ achievements, practice and presentation of monthly action plans. The Madison CCL Chapter usually meets on the second Saturday of the month at 11 a.m. at Arboretum Co-housing, 1137 Erin Street, Madison. Come at 10:15 a.m. for an informal coffee and conversation time.
Regional conferences are held annually and provide members a chance to learn more, work together on regional strategy, and network.
CCL’s annual international conference held in June in Washington, D.C. features prominent speakers, educational workshops, and culminates in meetings with almost every member of Congress or their staff. See some of the conference presentations on YouTube here.
